In 1895, the following clubs met at Green Cove Springs to form a State Federation of Woman’s Clubs:
Village Improvement Associations of Green Cove Springs, Crescent City, Orange City, Tarpon Springs, Town Improvement Association of Fairfield, and Jacksonville
From that time in 1895, someone from the Orange City Village Improvement Association usually held a state or county office. The Florida Federation of Woman’s Clubs joined the General Federation of Woman’s Clubs, which became chartered in 1901. The Orange City VIA is, therefore, a charter member of both state and national federations.
